Our Talent Acquisition Process

MedPartners HIM uses its proprietary talent acquisition process to match proven HIM professionals with healthcare organizations nationwide.  Through decades of experience in talent acquisition and workforce solutions, MedPartners HIM excels in delivering high performance results through our disciplined, proven methodologies.

1. Identification

The candidate identification process begins with a complete understanding of the client’s distinctive requirements.  Our trained Account Managers and Recruiters are all seasoned staffing professionals in the HIM and HIT, CDI and Oncology Data Management industries and belong to a minimum of one professional association.  By supporting active participation with organizations such as AHIMA and AAPC, HIMSS, NCRA and ACDIS we insure our account managers and recruiters stay up to date with industry trends.  This interaction makes us better prepared to recognize the unique needs of the healthcare organizations we support.  We take on the role of an extension to our client’s organization, ensuring that all HIM professionals are thoroughly screened and only the best and brightest HIM professionals are selected to join our team.

2. Qualification

Our staffing team is extremely knowledgeable and highly qualified, with over 15+ years of experience in the HIM industry.  We conduct complex screenings of all candidates including skill level, salary requirements, availability, geographic location, and commute.  Our hiring process is rigorous and results in passing an average of 10% of those who apply. This reduces the number of people who join our team and makes our recruiting efforts more difficult; however we are assured of hiring the most qualified “Proven Talented” HIM professionals in the country.  Each candidate is interviewed by the recruiter to access their skills.  They are required to take a Pre-Employment test that coordinates with the skill set found on the applicant resume. If they receive a passing score on the Pre-Employment coding test, they are interviewed by our Compliance Manager in order to assure the proper match.  Our consultants have an average of 16.5 years of experience, which means you can be confident in their ability.

3. Verification

Our recruiting professionals require candidates to submit three business references at the time of the qualification interview. During the initial screening and qualification phase, candidates are also required to consent to a background check which includes:  a standard nationwide screen, in depth county screen, SSN# verification, sexual offender screen and a search on OIG and EPLS.  A minimum of two professional references are contacted and credentials are verified prior to submitting the candidate.  The remaining references are contacted post qualifying interview to address any “red flags” which may have emerged through the interview process or confirm skills that didn’t convey on the resume.

4. Preparation

MedPartners HIM takes job preparation to the next level. The Account Manager works hand in hand with the Recruiter and client to make sure each consultant has a true understanding of what will be required of them. Whether its HIPPA training, vaccination history, TB tests  or OSHA, we prepare our candidate for each of our clients’ individual needs.  Additional skills training accompanied by continuing education credits may also be assigned to a consultant prior to the onset of the assignment. Through MedPartners HIM strategic partnership with AHIMA on line education, we deliver more than 85 specialty topics to our employees 24 hours a day 7 days a week via interactive web education and audio seminars.  This unprecedented resource ensures the Proven Talent we are known for.

5. Making the Right Match

MedPartners HIM has an extensive service delivery model in place to ensure quality and timely execution of our services.  It starts with a thorough job order.  Our account managers prefer to speak to several people in a department in order to gain the in depth perspective needed to make the right match.  MedPartners HIM 30+ years of experience has taught us that it takes more than the right skill set match to achieve long term success. Through developing trusting relationships with both our clients and consultants, we advocate for both to help make the project start and finish smooth.  The designated Account Manager engages our experienced team of recruiters to fill the open need with the most qualified HIM professional possessing the right technical and soft skills.  It is our responsibility to assist our clients in making the right hiring decisions and our candidates in making the right career choices.

6. Managing the project

Our job is not done after connecting top-notch HIM professionals with world-class client organizations. MedPartners HIM continuously follows up with all parties to make sure the project is going well. We believe in establishing long-lasting relationships and see opportunities for career coaching as a way to build those relationships.  We work with hundreds of hospitals all over the country giving us a unique perspective of best practices.  We truly form partnerships with our clients, consultants, and candidates because in the constantly changing landscape of Health Information, everyone needs a trusted ally.
